Dog Walking Volunteers do more than walk dogs. We play an essential role in the rehabilitation process for these lovely pups which helps find their forever home. Being in a shelter is stressful.  It's important that we provide exercise, mental stimulation and socialization. For the dog's well-being, our goal is to get them out no less than 4 times a day. Heart condition dogs 3 times a day, specific times, no play-yards,

We have a four-level approach designed to provide you with techniques aimed at minimizing stress and promoting positive experiences for our cats. 

Level 1 - 8 AM Start Time. Get comfortable by cleaning and sanitizing The Cat House - no contact with cats yet. Your presence alone is important for socialization. 

Must attend Debbie's Cat Orientation Class Prior to Volunteering.

Help Dogs, One Load at a Time! Clean laundry means healthy, happy dogs. By volunteering to wash bedding and towels, you keep our kennel safe, comfortable, and welcoming for every pup and visitor. Your behind-the-scenes work makes a real difference—join us and help give every dog a fresh start!

The shelter is open to Volunteers everyday 4:00 AM- 4:30 PM. Commitment is one hour per week or 4 hours per month.

Are you passionate about helping puppies and small dogs find their forever homes? Join us as a Puppy Room Assistant and make a difference! By volunteering in the Puppy Room, you enable our staff to focus more on caring for the puppies and assisting potential adopters, helping each furry friend get adopted more quickly.

Responsibilities: 

The shelter is open to Volunteers everyday 4:00 AM- 4:30 PM. Commitment is one hour per week or 4 hours per month.

For the members of Mizner Country Club, TCAR will bring 5-6 volunteers and 5-6 puppies to try their hardest to disrupt a peaceful yoga class!  Each volunteer will be assigned a puppy to mind as it cavorts through the yoga class and you can feel free to put "your" puppy on the backs of the attendees as they practice "Downward Dog"!  Be prepared with paper towel and poop bags...these are babies! (I mean the dogs, not the Mizner members!)

Need volunteers to work different areas of community-wide anniversary celebration: traffic control, event set up and breakdown, greet guests at welcome tent, provide information to guests, vendors.

NO DOGS (too chaotic).  3-4 volunteers selling raffle tickets, calling winners, etc.

Lexi Hidalgo/influencer to have photos taken with attendees, adoptable dogs being shown in front of DJ by our volunteers, vendors and food trucks, volunteers needed for parking assistance, selling raffle tickets

Bringing 2-3 dogs, raffle items and tickets to sell, 5-6 volunteers to sell tickets and walk dogs throughout the crowd, discuss shelter's mission with attendees

Our main goal is to help raise funds and spread awareness about our mission, provide information to the public, promote the importance of animal welfare, and encourage donations.

Volunteers play a vital role in improving the lives of dogs, both in shelters and within communities. Through your commitment and specialized skills, Tri-County can realize its full potential.
