Dog Walking Volunteers do more than walk dogs. We play an essential role in the rehabilitation process for these lovely pups which helps find their forever home. Being in a shelter is stressful. It's important that we provide exercise, mental stimulation and socialization. For the dog's well-being, our goal is to get them out no less than 4 times a day. Heart condition dogs 3 times a day, specific times, no play-yards, <5 min. walks in shaded areas.
The shelter is open to Volunteers everyday 4:00 AM- 4:30 PM. Commitment is one hour per week or 4 hours per month.
Must attend the shelter walking 101 orientation class and a singular 1:1 training session with a long-term dog walking volunteer.
